Abstract

Understanding the movement ecology of wading birds is essential for conserving species that rely on dynamic coastal ecosystems. This dissertation examined the movement patterns, habitat selection, and haemosporidian parasite prevalence in white ibis (Eudocimus albus) and tricolored herons (Egretta tricolor) breeding in the northern Gulf of America, as well as the association between parasite prevalence and their movements.
